here. We. GOOOOOOOO!!!!!
According to my nifty difty in-flight entertainment system, I’m currently flying 521 miles per hour. No big deal. I just rode Cedar Point’s 120 mph Dragster roller coaster, so I’m totes used to extreme speed...except this time I’m not drooling. Niall might disagree on that last bit. I can’t argue; I’m not responsible for anything I do while I sleep.
Speaking of sleep! SHOUT OUT to the Moores for giving me their neck pillow for the trip! Ohmylanta. If only I could take back those prideful, ignorant times where I thought I was too cool for such things, my neck and general body would thank me. These things are wonderful. I slept the entire first flight from Columbus to St. Paul.
Now I’m on a plane to LAX with a dream and a cardigan. We’re hoping to hit up some Chipo-po or Chinnabon or equally fatty but wonderful American goods before we leave the continent with the rest of the team.
This still feels surreal, like we’re just a bunch of teens going on a 2-week missions to do a VBS in Chicago. Not a bunch of teachers going on a 10 month adventure to teach in a high school in China. Hopefully it’ll hit me by the time I’m surrounded by Chinese people and understanding zero of what they’re saying.
In the meantime, baby steps. Here are some of my recent realizations:
-I will miss cheese.
-I won’t be back to Ohio in at least 10 months. #record
-Macs need other built-in games besides chess. I miss Hearts.
More later!
