My partner in crime, fellow thespian, and talented friend Liz Korkosz is the director of the 5 choirs at Shi Yi. She basically built up the program herself from scratch, and it kicks butt. This semester I've had the privilege getting to know some of her kids by helping her with her Musical Theatre class, but then she gave me a bigger opportunity: making a promo video of the choirs to show at her concert which just happened to be held on my birthday. Though a lot of work, it was so much fun creeping in on her rehearsals and catching the kids tackling fun songs from Les Mis, Hairspray, FUN, and Michael Jackson. Here's a little glimpse of our students and how fun and rewarding it is watching them learn to love music. :)
